What is HomeLink®: How Do I Program HomeLink®?
Now that you know the answer to, “What is HomeLink®?”, how do you program it? Follow these steps to quickly and easily program this wireless system:
- The HomeLink® unit in your Chevrolet features three buttons, which are typically found on the ceiling directly above the center console. Press and hold down the first and third buttons until your car’s interior lights start blinking, which should take about 20 seconds. Since pressing these buttons causes a master reset, you do not need to use them when adding other smart devices.
- As soon as the ceiling lights start flashing, press and hold the button you want to program. At the same time, press the open/close button on your garage door opener. The light flashing should pick up speed, which tells you the programming is finished.
- After walking into your garage, press the ‘learn’ button on the door opener and return to your vehicle.
- Once you are back in your Chevy, press the programmed button on your car for at least two seconds. You might see your garage door opener lights blink, letting you know the connection has started.
